Chad & Cynthia [Engagement Session] - Slideshow

Chadwick and Cynthia are a couple that loves going into Philadelphia. They were great sports during the session; a very easy-going couple. As we meandered our way through the Old City section of Philadelphia, we made created some great images along the way. They are getting married in November at Lighthouse Tabernacle in Lumberton, New Jersey.

Chadwick & Cynthia [Engagement Session] ***TEASER***

I have got to say that this may have been one of the toughest engagement sessions that I have ever done. We had to cancel one shoot due to rain (which is never a good thing), dodge in and around afternoon foot-traffic on the sidewalks of Philadelphia, and, most importantly, Chad and Cynthia are family friends (talk about performance anxiety).

Some of you who know me know that I was very excited to be shooting with Chad and Cynthia. We shot in and around Old City Philadelphia, as we meandered through the city streets. We shot in alleyways, streets, and even on private property.

My wife, jennifer, came along and I have to say that I was very impressed with her vision. Thank you Jennifer. I love you.

So when all is said and done, I had a great time. You can never go wrong with capturing moments in time of two people in love. A slideshow is soon to come. I will be creating a signature book from them soon.

Black and white conversion of shot from last spring of 2009. I think I like this one better. Camera specs; Nikon D300 fitted with a 30mm lens, F 1.4 @ 1/2000 second handheld, ISO 200. Enjoy!  -Genaro

A Need For Inspiration

My name is Genaro Orengo. I’m a photographer and I have a problem. I believe that I am not the only one who suffers from this problem; but; there are other photographers out there who deal with this same issue. A lack of inspiration. There are times when I can do nothing but shoot, shoot, shoot until my index finger is numb. But, there are other times (like now), when I simply do not feel like picking up my camera. Trust me when I say that I am motivated and it is not the lack of motivation that keeps me from shooting. If anything, it is the inspiration, the ideas, and creative surges. Sometimes, I am all over the place with ideas and surges of energy for photography that it can be overwhelming. But, then there are those times that I just draw a blank and nothing seems to flow from this head of mine. I have to say that I am envious of those photographers who always seem to be jumping from project to project, seeming to be at the right place at the right time. It is a creative rut. And, hopefully, by admitting that I am in a rut creatively that it will be the first step to opening the floodgates for inspiration to come flowing back in to reservoir of my mind.

More About Me...

You already know that Genaro Orengo is a photographer serving The Greater Philadelphia Area - NJ/PA. An unashamed good-guy, Genaro uses his creativity to create moments in time that convey a story for the viewer. These are his images.

But here is a little more about me...

I have two beagles named Jack and Ben.
I did not go to school for photography.
I drive a Dodge Charger because I am cool.
I'm a PC and Apple at the same time; so, I am uncool and cool at the same time
I read photography and tattoo magazines more than you do.
I'm addicted to Flickr.com and CNN.com.
My friends call me Genaro. You can too. I'll allow it.
Supernatural is my favorite television show.
I get REALLY excited about great photography.
I have the best wife in the world.
I spend countless hours working on my photography.
The thing I worry most about is trying to figure out how I'll make others happy through my images.
